We always love visiting Magnolia in the fall, but this trip was extra special. It was Magnolia’s 5th Silobration (an event filled weekend with vendors and food trucks from all over the nation, one of which was Urban Sips) and there’s just an excitement in the air that’s unmatched during any other time in the year!
So let’s get started on this list–My Top 5 Favorite Things about Magnolia Market!
This is what sets this weekend apart from all of the other weekends at Magnolia. It’s a chance to shop (not only) the amazing Magnolia Market but also about 40 of Chip and Jo’s HAND-SELECTED artisan shops. So much talent is packed on those streets. And sure there are more people than a regular weekend. BUT you get to visit some super neat vendors whom you’d otherwise have to fly across the nation to shop (in person) at their stores. They really select the best of the best!
People with small children might wonder how family friendly this event is? Being a mom of 5 myself, I’m one of those people. But guess who else is a mom of 5…Joanna! And she gets it! Her and Chip bring their kids to each of these events and they want people of ALL ages to be able to enjoy the festivities. Which is why this year, and to commemorate their 5th Annual Silobration, they added “The Midway” which was a whole street dedicated just hands-on activities (like The Magnolia Home Paint tent, Silobration Tattoos (temporary 😉), Topo Chico and Jenny’s Ice Cream Trucks, and a ferris wheel that towered over the Silos themselves. The only downside to bringing the kids is the tight walking spaces when it gets particularly crowded (like in the store), making strollers nearly impossible to navigate. If you can strap baby on, we’d recommend that!
Not all who attend Magnolia go to shop (I know, crazy-right??). Some (like myself) also just love to be inspired by all that is Magnolia Market. Their fall visual displays are always my favorite and always leave me feeling fully inspired. One day I will hang strings of leaves from my ceiling…mark my words! 😉
It opened the day before Silobration and maintained a line a mile long the entire time! The shop itself was so modern yet warm and inviting. With long farmhouse tables and tufted leather seating…this was definitely a place to bring friends but also, had a certain library feel, like you could actually bring a computer and get some work done. (Work?? Who works when visiting Magnolia?! I’m not sure, but the ambiance was sure there for it!) Their coffee and teas seemed very reasonably priced, at $3 per cup. They also had some seasonal pastries to choose from as well. A great place to kick up your feet after shopping all day at the Market.
Yep, they are FOR SURE on this list. Chip and Joanna have somehow found the most amazing people to surround themselves with. This Silobration marked the 4th event that we (Urban Sips) has done with them and we can honestly say that we LOVE working with them and feel like we’re part of the fam! I, for one, love supporting businesses that I know are run by good, wholesome people, and Magnolia is run by some of the very best. So when you purchase that Magnolia swag just know it’s not only going to Chip and Jo, but to the amazing team that is there day in-day out…making Magnolia as magical as it truly is!
If you have a minute, be on the look-out for Chip or Jo’s momma. Both can be seen at the Market multiple times throughout the year and they’re truly the kindest!
