This past week we gave our daughter’s room/guest room a little refresh with the help of The Home Depot (#sponsored). This room is where all of our company stays when they come to visit so we always strive to keep this room warm and inviting, as well as a comfortable and functional as a living space for our daughter.
It was SO EASY to getting everything I needed from the vast selection of home decor, bedding, and furniture located at www.homedepot.com/decor. My hope for this space was that it could be timeless and work for any age child or guest and I think we achieved just that.
The best part about this refresh is that it didn’t require ANY heavy lifting, as far as DIY or renovation goes. This was all purely cosmetic and easily achievable by everyone! The most time-consuming part was switching out the wallpaper. But even this only took about an hour.
For this space we went with this black and white window pane wallpaper from the Magnolia Home line sold at The Home Depot. This was our second time working with this particular paper and we continue to be impressed with its quality and thickness. We have textured walls here in Texas and you can hardly see the heavy texture through it. It comes with easy-to-read instructions that when followed properly make for a flawless installation.
We know how important it is to switch out your mattresses, as these can collect dust and skin particles over time. It was time to switch ours so we went with the 13 in. Plush Euro Top Mattress by Beautyrest Silver.
We went with this particular mattress, not only for the affordable price tag, but because of these two key features:
We love gel memory foam and also appreciated that this included a 9 in. box spring in the already affordable price.
Next we refreshed the bed linens with our favorite line from The Home Depot, Home Decorators Collection. They seem to be the total package when it comes to what we’re looking for–quality, comfort, sustainability, and style.
For this split king bed we chose the 600 thread count Supima Cotton 4-piece King Sheet Set in white by Home Decorators Collection. These sheets are insanely soft but also slightly cool to the touch, which is a major bonus on these hot summer nights in Texas. We paired this set with a Lightweight Down King Comforter also by Home Decorators Collection. This comforter comes in 2 different warmth choices: light warmth or heavy warmth, which makes it really nice to be able to decide, based on where you live and how you prefer to sleep. We covered ours with this simple striped duvet set, which dresses the comforter up slightly, without adding weight or compromising the warmth. I LOVE the small stripes and feel like this would work with ANY type of decor.
On the sides of the beds we added two USB Nightstands. Yep, USB! Each drawer is equipped with 2 USB ports for easy charging of devices at night. I really loved the long brass pulls and felt the mid-century modern design went well with the leather bed.
The nightstands are a great size and even with that cute layered decor, there’s still ample space for device charging, cup holding, etc.
Let’s start from the back! Remember those arched mirrors by Home Decorators Collection that I was planning on putting in my boys’ bathroom but they sold out? Well, they came back in stock and I snagged them for this space! They are just the cutest with that thin, black metal rim and go perfectly on these nightstands.
The square clock is one I’ve used before in the media room and I loved it so much I added one in here. And can we talk about that lamp for a minute?! It’s my new favorite lamp! You know how much I love concrete…this table lamp by Safavieh has a concrete base with gold touches and a white linen drum shade. It could seriously go anywhere!
I always love adding little touches of greenery to any living space. This small fern comes in a pack of 2 and originally came in a burlap sack, but I removed it from the sack and placed it in this cute white geometric ceramic planter (which also came in a set of 2).
Did you catch a glimpse of this amazingly soft faux fur throw blanket at the end of the bed? It’s honestly the softest blanket I’ve ever had! Adding a simple throw to the end of a bed makes for a nice warm welcome to the bedroom.
You might have also recognized these two black and cream throw pillows that we have in our media room. I loved these so much I HAD TO add them in here too. The black and cream goes perfectly with the wallpaper and new 8×10 Moroccan Tassel Shag rug under the bed.
That’s it! Some new wallpaper, a new rug and mattress, with fresh bed linens, nigthstands, lamps and decor…and it’s a whole new space! And easy bedroom refresh and we didn’t even use any tools! As always, we love being able to get everything we need at our fave one-stop-shop: www.homedepot.com/decor. What’s your favorite part about the new room? The wallpaper, the nightstands & decor, or the bedding?
