The DIY Succulent Planter is all finished up! It turned out better than I could’ve imagined (this was one of those DIY’s that really “added up”).  I saved the story tutorial to my highlight reel if you’d like to build one too.

Now here’s to hoping I can keep these things alive. And if not…that’s what artificial plants are for. Do me a favor and leave your succulent tips in the COMMENTS below. By the sound of it, there were LOTS of us who had the same questions about succulent maintenance.

Thanks in advance, my green thumb buddies!

A close-up of our big ol’ 42”x50” DIY Succulent Wall. Like (my bestie) Erin @cottonstem—I’m basically a farmer now. I’ve kept these alive for like, 10 days and feeling pretty good about it.

The outdoor patio was a big project to tackle, but this succulent planter is the perfect decor touch. Plus, it’s super low maintenance!

UPDATE

Remember those succulents I picked out at @homedepot a month ago? Guess what, they’re still alive. Shocker, I know—but these guys are totally thriving back there! I haven’t even watered them but *maybe* 3 times in the month I’ve had them. Finally, a plant you can forget about with it getting all emotional and stuff.

I highly recommend the @homedepot succs. Not sponsored, just a happy customer!

That is exactly what I’m looking for to break up the large section of vinyl house siding abutting my patio. My biggest obstacle is how to attach it to the wall without putting too many holes in my siding. It looks like you have real wood siding but would the processes be similar?

Hi! How did you secure the cedar frame around the edge? Nails or glue?

Hi, I just saw the photo spread and article about your home in the Do It Yourself magazine. Very cool indeed! Just one question, in your backyard deck , you have what looks to be a large tree stump as a table with pots of flowers on it and centered. Is it a tree stump? Can you tell me more about the piece? (How did you prep it, etc) Thank you!
